Rebecca first got into swimming at the age of 3 and she fell in love with it straight away and knew that she wanted to be a swimmer. She has competed in four Olympic finals, over two Games, winning two gold and two bronze medals in Beijing and London respectively.
An extra special bonus in her career came when breaking the World Record in the 800m freestyle in 2008. The record was 19 years old, the same age she was in Beijing; it was the highlight of her swimming career and a stand out moment.
Since retiring from swimming, she has enjoyed challenging herself and exploring different avenues. She has taken part in a variety of TV shows – From I’m a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in 2013, to The jump in 2016 and MasterChef in 2017. She became part of the BBC punditry team in 2013, covering The Olympics in Rio 2016, World Championships, Commonwealth Games and European Games.
