Angus Deayton is an English actor, writer, musician, comedian, and broadcaster. He was a regular cast member of the sitcom One Foot in the Grave from 1990 until 2000. He was the original presenter of the satirical panel game Have I Got News for You and the host of British panel show Would I Lie to You?. He also played George Windsor in the final three series of Waterloo Road.
Angus was a featured player in all three series of the Emmy award-winning sketch comedy programme Alexei Sayle's Stuff. He has appeared in many other programmes including Black Adder, Mr Bean, Benidorm and Death In Paradise. He has been associated with Comic Relief/Sport Relief for many years. He has appeared for the England team in the Soccer Aid matches in support of UNICEF. He was in Casualty, playing an exaggerated version of himself in a Comic Relief-related story.
Angus has presented Comedy Sketchbook, a nostalgic look at classic comedy sketches and the British Comedy Awards. His feature film appearances include the mysterious, all-knowing man in That Deadwood Feeling,Swinging with the Finkels, and Playing the Moldovans at Tennis.
