Alexander Armstrong is an English comedian, actor, radio and television presenter and bass-baritone singer. He is best known as one half of the comedy duo Armstrong and Miller who starred in four series of Armstrong and Miller and The Armstrong and Miller Show. He is a regular on the BBC series Have I Got News For You, and has co-presented the hugely popular TV quiz show Pointless since 2009.
As an actor, Alexander has appeared in numerous television programmes and has also done lots of voice-over work including Danger Mouse and also Mr Wolf and Captain Dog in Peppa Pig. Recently, he featured in Horrible Histories: The Movie - Rotten Romans. He has been a regular presenter on Classic FM since 2014, recently appointed to host their flagship weekday mid-morning programme.
Alexander has published several books including The A-Z Of Pointless, co-authored with Richard Osman and Land Of The Midnight Sun, in which Alexander documented his adventures during his two-month trip to the Arctic for ITV.
After over a decade in television and comedy, Alexander went on to release three solo albums, the first of which topped the UK Classical Chart in its first week; the first time a comedian/actor has reached number 1 in that chart. In 2019, he returned to his comedy roots, touring his one-man stage show All Mouth And Some Trousers around the UK.
